We strive to offer you the freshest, healthiest, and safest meals --- without overly-processing and cooking foods at high temperatures for a long period of time (like many jarred and pouched baby food).
In our last baby food batches (in our temporary packaging), we had to slightly amend our recipes to meet specific criteria.
We had 3 choices (1) cook the food at high temperatures for a long period of time, (2) significantly increase the fruit content of each recipe to decrease pH, or (3) slightly increase organic lemon juice to reduce pH.
We opted to stick to our Nutrition Promise of 100% Daily Nutrition, Minimally-Processed, and Veggie-First, Balanced Meals -- adding a little squeeze of lemon juice instead of doubling the fruit, overly-heating, or adding preservatives.
Rest assured, even with the squeeze of lemon, our meals are less acidic (have a higher pH) than applesauce.
Our next batches will utilize HPP, or High Pressure Pasteurization -- in our new custom packaging. HPP uses pressure instead of heat to kill harmful bacteria. We believe this process better preserves the nutrient-density, freshness, flavor, color, and texture of the foods, which are all vital to the growth and development of your little one! And, with HPP, we'll be able to reduce the amount of lemon in the next batches. Win, win, delicious win!
